CRS RECYCLE DIGESTER SYSTEMS

The CRS multipurpose pulping systems are designed to simulate all known pulping processes, including organo-solv pulping, with true concentration and temperature profiles as well as realistic flow profiles. The geometries of reactors and peripherals are chosen to give good and reproducible mill flow conditions in the chip bed. The recycle systems are modular with several operation modes. Valve operation reconfigures the flow-sheet into other process modes.

Digester Alternatives and Applications
  1. The CRS Standard Lab Recycle Digester performs campaigns of standard cooking for trouble-shooting, process quality studies etc. This recycle digester consists of 2 parallel vessels with peripherals. It is easy to operate and it is easy to modify. This system is operated through a PLC and in most cases also by a PC for pump control, temperature control and logging.

  2. The CRS Laboratory High Performance Recycle Digester is designed for advanced simulation and evaluation of a wide range of cooking processes. It is basically a small pilot digester with a wide selection of digesters, accumulators, receivers, injection options and measurement possibilities.
Features

General
  • Operation modes include up- and down-flow recycle, standard and displacement cooks and steaming.
  • Digesters are charged and discharged with a chip basket. The reactor system has a lifting/guiding device for the digester lid and one for the basket.
  • Liquor circulation is performed with a frequency controlled pump.
  • Liquid injection and displacement during operation is performed with regular pumps or with a special EMCC-pump.
  • Heat exchangers (cooler and heater) of high capacity are located on the recycle loop and each digester vessel has a jacket heater. Accumulator tanks have independent temperature control.
  • Temperatures in several locations are sampled for H-factor calculation and display.
  • The system has a PC operator interface with a flow diagram for good over-view and control.
  • All transmitters including pressure, flow and optional sensors are monitored for both control and logging purposes.
  • Optional sensors and instruments such as pH, conductivity, NIR etc can be introduced into the system.

Standard Lab Recycle Digester
  • Pump control for circulation
  • All data are logged

High Performance Recycle Digester
  • Valve operation from PC to make multiple switching in blocks
  • Pressure control and displacement control
  • Flow control and injection control
  • Pump arrangement for both circulation and displacement with different flow configurations
  • Bed compression with piston and additional sensors
  • Rapid step changes in temperature
